Guided Tour BJacob and Wilhelm Grimm Centre
For the first time since 2009 the university's central library and computer and media
service reside combined in one library building - the Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm Centre.
The building, which was designed according to the plans of the architect Max Dudler and is
already awarded with three architectural prizes, captivates through its formal rigidness which
ties in with the geometrical formal vocabulary of classical modernity.
The state-of-the-art communications centre offers over one and a half million books and
periodicals which can be used directly, as well as diverse sections such as the central
reading terraces, a research reading room, a slide and media centre, a magazine reading
lounge, the Berliner Volksbank parent-children area and finally, the auditorium with 180 seats.
